How selfie search works
- 1
Find your race
Search the race catalog for your event. If a photographer covered it on PodiumBase, it’s here.
- 2
Upload one selfie
On the race’s photo page, upload a single selfie. Our matching engine compares your face against every photo from that race.
- 3
See only your photos
We return the photos you appear in — usually in seconds. Buy the ones you love as a one-time license; there’s no subscription.
No bib number? No problem.
Bib-based photo search breaks the moment your bib is covered by a jacket, twisted to the side, or cropped out of the frame — which is most finish-line photos. Selfie search matches on your face instead, so you find your photos even when your bib never made it into the shot. Prefer bib search? That still works too — both live on every race’s photo page.
Questions
- How do I find my race photos with a selfie?
- Find your race in the PodiumBase catalog, open its photo page, and upload one selfie. Our matching engine compares your face against every photo from that race and returns the ones you appear in — usually in seconds.
- Can I find race photos without a bib number?
- Yes. Selfie search does not need your bib number — it matches on your face, so it works even if your bib was covered, twisted, or cropped out of the shot. If you prefer, you can still search by bib number instead.
- Is uploading a selfie safe? What happens to my photo?
- Your selfie is used only to match you to photos and is permanently deleted within 60 seconds of matching — we never store it. Face data lives in a per-event collection that is deleted when the event closes, and you can opt out of face matching at any time in your athlete settings.
- How much does it cost to find my photos?
- Searching for your photos is free. You only pay if you choose to buy a photo. Prices are set per photographer tier (for example, a single photo is $14.99 from a Pro photographer or $3.99 from a Community photographer), as a one-time license — there is no athlete subscription.
- Which races does PodiumBase cover?
- PodiumBase covers a growing list of running, cycling, and multi-sport events. Browse the race catalog to see whether your event is covered; if a photographer shot it on PodiumBase, your photos are findable by selfie or bib.
