About the race

The race.

RTC Open Water Swim takes place Monday, May 18, 2026, at Robious Landing in Midlothian, VA. Members only may register; registration closes at 3pm the day of the event. Swimmers choose between a 1-mile or 1500-yard distance, with all swimmers departing at 6:05pm from the dock. Arrival by 5:45pm is required for the safety briefing and check-in. Swim buoys and bright swim caps are mandatory; a limited number are available to borrow. Volunteer positions include kayakers with their own kayak and swim lead coordinators. All participants must be at least 18 years old.
