About the race
The race.
The 10th Annual Red Moon Trail Run presented by Bayne's Apple Valley takes place August 29, 2026, at Midland City Forest in Midland, Michigan. Participants can choose from three distances: a daytime 5K starting at 6 PM, a nighttime 5K at 9:15 PM, a nighttime 10K at 8:45 PM, or a nighttime 25K at 8:15 PM. The flat, wide-track trail course is marked with LED lights for night navigation. All finishers receive a medal, custom race bib, professional chip timing, and free online photos. Packet pickup runs from 5 PM to 9 PM on race day at the Monroe Parking Lot field below the sledding hill. A portion of proceeds benefits the Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition.
