About the race
The race.
The 11th Annual Walk|Run for Kids 2026 takes place October 3 in Sunland Park, NM, with a 5K run starting at 7:30 a.m. and a 1-mile walk beginning at 8:15 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of El Paso, supporting seriously ill children and their families. Participants can register as individuals or teams through October 2; no onsite registration occurs on event day. Finishers in designated age groups (12 and under through 70+) receive medals for first, second, and third place. Event t-shirts and swag bags are available for pickup October 1–2 at Ronald McDonald House; early registrants through August 3 receive guaranteed shirt sizing. Participants can compete in challenges including best-dressed pet, best-dressed team, and largest team categories.
