17th John's Baby Steps 2026

The race.

The 17th John's Baby Steps takes place October 3, 2026, at Kinnick-Feller Riverside Park in Adel, Iowa. The event features a timed 5K race and a 1-mile memory walk, with a kids fun run for ages 12 and under following the 5K finish. An angel presentation begins at 8:00 am, with the main race starting at 8:15 am. Packet pickup occurs Friday, October 2nd from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Adel Public Library, with race-day registration from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. Registration costs $20 through August 15th, $25 through September 20th, and $30 thereafter; students through 12th grade pay $15, and children 12 and under are free. Race registration includes a t-shirt. Age-group awards are given for runners 19 and under, 20–40, and 41 and older.
