The race.
The 2026 Boston Cutoff Virtual Marathon is a free virtual event held April 11–26, 2026, open to runners who qualified for the 2026 Boston Marathon but missed the acceptance cutoff or fell within 10 minutes of their qualifying time. Participants complete 26.2 miles either on a self-selected route anywhere or at any certified marathon during the race window, with results verified via GPS upload. All finishers enter a drawing for the grand prize of a fully paid 2027 Boston Marathon entry, with additional raffle tickets earned for time improvements, referrals, and other criteria. No registration fee applies.
