The race.
The City to the Sea Half Marathon & 5K takes place on October 18, 2026, in San Luis Obispo, California, offering two distances. The half marathon (13.1 miles) begins at Mission Plaza (989 Chorro Street) at 7:00 AM and follows a point-to-point course ending at Avila Beach Resort. The 5K (3.1 miles) starts at Avila Beach Resort (6464 Ana Bay Road) at 7:00 AM on an out-and-back course with a loop. All participants receive a finisher's medal and custom event t-shirt, with the top 100 half marathoners earning a commemorative mug. Food and beverages are available for purchase post-race, including complimentary beer for participants 21 and older. Half marathon finishers receive return transportation to San Luis Obispo via bus.
