About the race
The race.
The 2026 HBCU STEM Education Run takes place on September 7 in Raleigh, NC, featuring a 1-mile and 5K option. Packet pickup begins at 7:30 AM on-site, with registration closing at 8 AM. The pre-race welcome program starts at 8 AM, followed by the race start at 8:30 AM. An award ceremony and scholarship presentation is scheduled for approximately 9:45 AM. First place winners in male and female categories receive $50 awards sponsored by Fleet Feet Raleigh. Commemorative medals are available as an add-on purchase. The event is untimed and welcomes dogs and strollers. Proceeds support STEM education and scholarships for students at HBCUs.
