About the race
The race.
The 2026 Run the Runway takes place on Saturday, August 29, at Midland Airpark in Midland, Texas. Participants can choose between a timed 5K or a 1-Mile Fun Run, both run on the airport's newly renovated runway and tarmac. Packet pickup runs from 6:00–7:30 AM, with the 1-Mile starting at 7:15 AM and the 5K at 7:35 AM; the course closes at 9:15 AM. Registration includes an event T-shirt, finisher medal, and post-race refreshments, plus access to the Fly Into Fall aviation event beginning at 9:00 AM. The race is presented by ConocoPhillips and organized by Midland Athletic Company.
