About the race
The race.
The 20th Annual Golden Gallop takes place September 20, 2026, in Golden, Colorado, with start and finish at Golden High School. Participants can choose from a 3.1-mile run, 6.2-mile run, 12.4-mile challenge, 9.3-mile option, a kids fun run for ages 10 and under, or a sleep-in option for those unable to run on race day. All finishers receive a long-sleeve sports performance t-shirt, with registration by September 1st to guarantee size availability. Cash awards of $150, $100, and $50 go to first, second, and third place in both the 5K and 10K for male and female runners, plus $100 for course record setters and age group awards across ten categories. The race benefits the Golden Schools Foundation, a nonprofit that directs annual proceeds to educational funding for Golden's neighborhood schools.
