23rd Annual Groom Creek Classic: 1/2 Marathon, 10k, 5k Run 2026

The race.

The 23rd Annual Groom Creek Classic takes place September 19, 2026, in Prescott, Arizona, featuring a half marathon (13.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1 miles), and fun run options at 2 miles and 1.5 miles. The half marathon and 10K courses combine pavement with forest roads in the Ponderosa Pine area of Groom Creek, while the 5K and fun runs remain on paved surfaces with rolling hills. Organized by the Groom Creek Firefighters Association, the race is capped at 100 half marathon entries, 60 10K spots, and 100 5K spots. All finishers receive an event shirt and reusable hydration bottle; half marathon finishers also receive a medal, and top-three age-group finishers in each distance earn medals. Water stations throughout the course allow runners to refill personal hydration bottles, with additional cups available at the start/finish line.
