The race.
The 29th Annual Smith McMillan 5K takes place on October 24, 2026, in Wilmington, Delaware, benefiting the financial aid endowment named for siblings Jonathan Bacon Smith and Wendy Smith McMillan. The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m., preceded by a free Kids Dash at 8:10 a.m. Pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeve T-shirt. Awards are given to top overall male and female finishers, top finishers in alumnus/faculty/staff and walker categories, and the top three finishers in each age group from 8 and under through 80 and older.
