The 3rd Annual PPP3CA Race for Rare 5K Run/Walk takes place on August 23, 2026, at Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas. Participants can run or walk a 5K course; a 1-mile walk option is also available. Registration opens at 8:00 AM with the event starting at 9:00 AM. Proceeds benefit the PPP3CA Hope Foundation, a 501(c)(3 nonprofit supporting research for PPP3CA rare disease. Registration costs $40 for the Full Zebra Experience (includes race shirt and swag bag, deadline July 31) or $20 for Basic Entry, with a Virtual option also available at $20. The untimed race awards medals across multiple age categories plus special awards for eldest runner and top male and female finishers. Amenities include free pancakes, coffee truck purchases, water stations, face painting, and a silent auction; kids receive participation medals.
