5K Monster Dash 2026

The race.

The 5K Monster Dash: Underworld Awakening takes place on October 31st, 2026, in Hutchinson, Kansas, starting at 8:00 AM at Strataca's salt mine location. Participants run or walk a 5K course 650 feet underground through salt mine tunnels. Helmets and light sources (headlamps or flashlights) are required equipment. The first 200 registered runners receive a finisher medal and limited-edition t-shirt; additional registrants will not receive medals. Participants must be at least 8 years old; those 8–17 must have an adult companion. Runners select a heat at registration with a maximum of 30 participants per heat; anyone remaining on course at noon will be escorted to finish. Race packet pickup occurs at check-in, at least 15 minutes before each heat start. All proceeds benefit Strataca: Kansas Underground Salt Museum.
