Alger Heights Halloween 5k 2026

The race.

The Alger Heights Halloween 5K takes place on October 31, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This volunteer-led 5K fun run is open to runners, joggers, walkers, and participants in costumes, with all participants receiving chip timing. The course runs through the Alger Heights neighborhood. Beyond the 5K, the event includes a Community Costume Contest with prizes for best individual costumes under 18 and over 18, best groups of 2–3 people, and best groups of 4 or more, along with a Neighborhood Cheer Contest prize. Costume contest judging and awards take place at 11:30 a.m. The community costume contest requires no race registration and is open to all.
