The Allerton Park Trail Run takes place October 25, 2026, in Monticello, Illinois, featuring four distances: 5.7 miles, 5.1 miles, 2 miles, and 1.25 miles. The primary 5.7-mile course follows terrain along the Sangamon River with roots, ruts, and sharp turns. Runners finish in a meadow. The event offers overall awards for the 5.7-mile run (top male and female, masters categories) and age-group awards in seven divisions. Registration with shirt guarantee closes October 14, 2026; race-day registration ends at 8:30 a.m. A non-competitive 2-mile nature walk is also available. Proceeds benefit Allerton Park maintenance and improvements. A virtual option runs through October 31, 2026, though virtual participants are ineligible for age-group awards.
