About the race
The race.
The Always Ready 5K takes place on October 10, 2026, in Cape May, NJ. The 5K race awards medals to the top 3 male and female overall finishers and by age group (14 & under, 15–19, and 10-year increments through 60+). Participants who register by September 30 receive a race shirt; all 5K finishers get a commemorative challenge coin. A 3K dog-friendly run/walk option starts 5 minutes after the 5K, with dogs required to be leashed on no more than a 6-foot lead and able to remain calm throughout. K9 finishers receive a medal and dog pin. Virtual 5K and K9 options are available throughout October, with the same finisher awards as in-person races.
