Back the Blue Pump N Run takes place in Ames, Iowa on October 10, 2026. Participants can compete in a 3.1-mile run/walk, or combine running with bench press repetitions for a combined score event. Weigh-ins and lifting occur from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m., with the race starting shortly after. Successful bench presses reduce 5K time by 30 seconds each, up to a maximum 15-minute reduction. Medals are awarded to top male and female finishers in each age category, with a traveling trophy for the top law enforcement participant. A kids dash runs at 8:45 a.m.
