Race-day experiences shared about Beast of Burden 2026.
The Beast of Burden is a 24-hour endurance event held October 31–November 1, 2026, on Mt. Kessler in Fayetteville, Arkansas, running from noon Saturday to noon Sunday. Participants compete as individuals or teams in mountain biking, trail running, or both disciplines, completing laps on two separate 4–6 mile loops (one easier, one more difficult) that rotate every six hours. Teams consist of 2–4 people in the Ultra category or 5–7 in the Endurance category for dual-sport teams; run-only and bike-only teams follow different size limits. Solo participation is also available. The team or individual logging the most laps wins. Dinner, breakfast, and trailside coffee are provided; amenities include fire pits, live music, and on-site support from Rise Physical Therapy and Phat Tire bike services. Net proceeds benefit Mt. Kessler trail preservation and development.
