About the race
The race.
Beat the Heat Maryland Indoor 5K takes place August 9, 2026, at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland. Participants choose between a 5K run (four laps around the mall) or a shorter family fun run/walk. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM for elite runners, 8:40 AM for the 5K, and 9:45 AM for the fun run/walk. All finishers receive a medal and t-shirt. Packet pickup occurs Saturday, August 8th, at Under Armour. The race starts and finishes in the food court. Participants must bring their own water in a sealed, leak-proof container; water fountains are available throughout the mall. Post-race activities include fitness demos, recovery stretches, and training tips.
