The race.

The Black-Eyed Pea 5K and Fun Run takes place October 17, 2026, at 8:00 AM in Athens, TX, with packet pickup beginning at 7:00 AM at Cain Center YMCA. The event features a timed 5K race and a family fun run of approximately 1 kilometer for participants of all ages. All participants receive a free t-shirt. The event is sponsored by UT Health East Texas and organized by the Greater Athens Chamber of Commerce.
