The race.

Blue Sky Trail Marathon & Half Marathon takes place October 17-18, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado, starting at Blue Sky Trailhead in Horsetooth Mountain Park. The marathon covers 26.7 miles with 3,500 feet of elevation gain/loss; the half marathon offers two options at 13.4 miles (1,800 feet) and 13.8 miles. The course runs on dirt singletrack, rocky singletrack, dirt road, and gravel bike path through Horsetooth Mountain Park and Devil's Backbone Open Space. Time limits are nine hours for the marathon and six hours for the half marathon. Registration caps are 400 per distance. Finishers receive a gender-specific race shirt, unique finisher award, age group awards, and a finish line meal with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Packet pickup is available for $145. Aid stations are fully stocked throughout the course.
