Bound for the Sound 2026

The race.

Bound for the Sound is a road race held September 19, 2026, in Old Lyme, Connecticut, featuring 5K and 10K distances plus a one-mile Family Fun Run. Both main races start and finish at Sound View Beach on Hartford Avenue, with the 10K offering a mostly flat course with gently rolling hills and the 5K running very flat. All participants receive chip timing and instant results; race entry includes a t-shirt and post-race food and drinks. The 10K course is USATF certified and designated as the 2026 USATF-CT 10K State Championship. Awards go to top three overall finishers by gender, top non-binary finishers, and top three finishers in age groups ranging from 12 and under through 80 and older. Race day check-in and bib collection begin at 7:00 a.m., with the 10K starting at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K at 8:15 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Old Lyme Fire Department Auxiliary.
