About the race
The race.
The Canal Path Classic takes place on August 29, 2026, in Mohawk, NY, featuring 5K and 10K distances on the Erie Canalway Trail. Both races start and finish at Fort Herkimer Church and follow a flat course on the canal trail with no vehicle traffic. Participants receive a commemorative t-shirt with entry. Awards go to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, plus top three male and female youth finishers in the 5K. A portion of proceeds benefits the Mohawk Youth and Family Center, the event host.
