Capital City Century 2026

The Capital City Century takes place September 19, 2026, in Sherman, Illinois, with eight ride distances: 100 miles, 66 miles, 63 miles, 50-mile scout ride, 40 miles, 23 miles, 20 miles, and 12 miles. All routes start and finish at the Sherman Athletic Club, beginning on the Heritage Route 66 Multiuse Trail before continuing on low-traffic roads. The event includes fully stocked rest stops with drinks and snacks, mechanical support at the start/finish location, and SAG support throughout the day. Finishers receive a commemorative pint glass (first 350 registrants) and a finisher medal commemorating the ride and Route 66's centennial. A post-ride meal and one beverage are included for all participants. The Springfield Bicycle Club organizes this 54-year-old cycling event.
