Capital City River Run 2026

The race.

The Capital City River Run takes place September 19-20, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan, offering a half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K, and one-mile race, plus a virtual 5K option. The kids' one-mile race starts Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Lansing River Trail, with a pizza party and goodie bag afterward at Impression 5 Science Center. The half marathon and 5K begin Sunday at 8 a.m. from Michigan Avenue in front of the Lansing Center, running through downtown Lansing and finishing at Adado Park. All finishers receive medals; half marathon and 5K participants also get a sweatshirt. Packet pickup occurs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with race-day pickup Sunday from 6:30 to 8 a.m., both at Impression 5 Science Center. Proceeds benefit Impression 5 Science Center's hands-on science programming for children and families.
