The race.

The Captain Bill Gallagher Island 10 Mile Run takes place on August 1, 2026, in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, organized by the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol. The course covers 10 miles, with approximately 2.5 miles on a blacktop boardwalk and the remaining distance on beach sand. Race packet pickup and day-of registration occur at Beach Patrol Headquarters (10 44th Street) from noon to 5 p.m. Early bird registration costs $30 for individuals and $35 for teams (closing July 25); race week registration is $40 individual and $45 team (closing July 31). The race features chip timing, water stations throughout, and refreshments at the finish. Finishers receive a t-shirt (first 1,000 online registrants); trophies are awarded to top-ten overall finishers and first and second place winners in 13 age divisions. A 2-hour 30-minute time cap applies; a mandatory awards ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. at Beach Patrol Headquarters, 44th Street and Promenade.
