Captain Kids Triathlon 2026

The race.

The Captain Kids Triathlon on September 13, 2026, in Galveston, TX, offers five main divisions for youth ages 6–16: Mini Mates (ages 6–10) with a 100m swim, 2-mile bike, and ½-mile run; Mates (ages 11–14) with a 200m swim, 4-mile bike, and 1-mile run; and Long Course Mates (ages 15–16) with a 200m swim, 6-mile bike, and 1.7-mile run. Captain's Waves provide competitive divisions for experienced triathletes in Mini Mates and Mates categories, with separate awards. First Mates Adaptive Waves with guides and race modifications are available. The swim takes place in a lazy river, the bike course runs through Moody Gardens resort, and the run travels through tropical gardens. Every athlete receives waterpark admission plus three free family member entries, with a waterpark celebration following the race.
