Champlain Islands Marathon & Half Marathon 2026

The race.

The Champlain Islands Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, starting at 8:30 AM at Folsom Elementary School in South Hero, Vermont. Runners may choose between a 13.1-mile half marathon or 26.2-mile full marathon. Both courses are USATF-certified, fully paved routes with flat to rolling terrain that begin and end near the former home of seven-time Boston Marathon winner Clarence H. DeMar. The half marathon follows an out-and-back path along the west shore; the full marathon covers two loops of the half-marathon course. All finishers receive a medal and race shirt. Aid stations with water and electrolyte drink are positioned approximately every 2 miles, with sweep vehicles available for assistance. Packet pickup occurs October 16–17 from noon to 6 PM at SkiRack in Burlington, or on race morning from 7–8 AM at Folsom School. Competitors must be 16 or older. Time limits are 4 hours for the half marathon and 6 hours for the full marathon.
