About the race
The race.
The Chili Chase is a 6.5-mile trail run through Overend Mountain Park in Durango, Colorado, taking place on October 17, 2026. Organized by the Durango Running Club in partnership with Backcountry Experience, the event benefits The Good Food Collective. The course traverses Hogsback and concludes with a chili cookoff competition. Registration opens August 1, 2026. Chili cooks may enter the cookoff at no charge by emailing info@BCEXP.com and bringing their entry; the cookoff champion receives a belt.
