Death By a Mile 2026

The race.

Death By a Mile is a timed loop race held October 11, 2025, at Skeetawk Ski Area in Palmer, Alaska. Runners choose a 4, 6, 8, or 12-hour time division and complete as many one-mile hill loops as possible on the Meadow Loop trail, starting and finishing at the Skeetawk parking lot. The 12-hour race starts at 8:00 AM; the 8-hour race at 12:00 PM; and the 6-hour and 4-hour races at either 8:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Water, electrolytes, and aid station snacks are provided; runners must bring their own additional nutrition. One award is given to the competitor completing the most loops in each time division. Minors ages 12–17 may participate with a parent or guardian on-site; children under 12 may run the Kid Loop with a registered parent.
