About the race

The race.

Fall 2026 Kids 5K training program in Cary, North Carolina, runs from August 25 through October 13, 2026, and is designed for children ages 8–14. The eight-week course meets once weekly on Tuesdays at New Hope Church Trailhead Park, with sessions from 6:00–7:00 p.m. in August and September and 5:30–6:30 p.m. in October. Participants train toward completing a 3.1-mile 5K, grouped by pace after an initial timed mile, and receive a training plan, weekly coached workouts, a medal, a training shirt, and a 20% discount at Pace Yourself Run Company. Registration is $70 with a 40-person cap; financial assistance is available upon request.
