First Solar HEROES 5k 2026

The race.

The First Solar HEROES 5k takes place November 7, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama at the US Space & Rocket Center. The event features a 5-kilometer run and a 5-kilometer ruck, both with a start window from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on a USATF-certified road course. The ruck division requires male participants to carry 30-pound rucks and female participants to carry 20-pound rucks, with weights verified before the event begins. All proceeds benefit Still Serving Veterans, a local military support organization. Registration closes at 7 a.m. on race day; those registering by October 19 are guaranteed a race packet and t-shirt, while later registrants receive a bib and packet supplies on a first-come basis. Parking is available at The Davidson Center for Space Exploration lot.
