About the race

The race.

The Forest Frolic Trail Race & Hike takes place July 11, 2026, at Findley State Park in Wellington, Ohio. Participants can choose from a 5K run, 10K run, 1-mile fun run, or hike on a trail course featuring bridges, streams, and elevation changes around Findley Lake, with start and finish near the beach area parking lot. Race day packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM, with the 5K and 10K starting at 9:00 AM. All finishers receive a medal and swag bag; 5K and 10K participants also receive a t-shirt (1-mile participants do not). Refreshments are available at the finish line. Awards are given to top overall finishers and by age group divisions in the 5K and 10K runs. Proceeds support Friends of Findley State Park's conservation and educational initiatives. Register by June 28 to guarantee a shirt.
