Freeway 5K Run For Recovery 2026

The race.

The Freeway 5K Run for Recovery takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. at Ft. Mellon Park in Sanford, Florida. The 5K course is chip-timed, and both runners and walkers are welcome. Proceeds benefit Freeway Sanford, a nonprofit providing recovery support, mentorship, transportation, and housing assistance to individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and other life challenges. All registered participants receive a t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by August 19), and awards are given to overall top male and female finishers as well as top three finishers in ten age categories. Packet pickup occurs September 10–11 from noon to 3 p.m. at Colonial Room Restaurant, with additional pickup at the race site starting at 6:00 a.m. Free parking is available at Palmetto by the Civic Center and the Chamber of Commerce.
