The race.

The Friends of Reston hosts the 6th Annual Fall 5K on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Reston, VA, benefiting scholarship and enrichment programs. The 5K follows paved trails in the area, with races starting and finishing at Browns Chapel Park. New for 2026, a free Pumpkin Dash for children ages 10 and under starts at 8:00 am (50 yards to 200 meters depending on age), concluding before the 5K begins at 8:15 am; Pumpkin Dash finishers receive a small pumpkin. Registration fees for the 5K range from $25–$50 depending on age group and registration date, with online registration open through race morning. Packet pickup occurs Saturday, October 3 from 9:00–11:00 am at Browns Chapel Park. Commemorative race shirts are guaranteed for 5K registrants who register before September 14; Pumpkin Dash shirts are available for $15. Awards go to top 3 overall finishers and top male and female finishers in ten age groups from 9 and under through 80+.
