About the race
The race.
The Gordon Cooper Technology Center Foundation hosts the Rocket Man Run 5K & Fun Walk on August 22, 2026, at GCTC Main Campus in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The event features a 5K run and 1-mile fun walk on an out-and-back course with hills. Registration costs $30 for either distance. The 5K is chip-timed with results posted within 24 hours; the fun walk is untimed. Participants who register by August 1st receive a guaranteed short-sleeved cotton t-shirt. Top 25 overall finishers earn commemorative medals. Packet pickup occurs August 21st from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Marty Lewis Public Safety Center. Refreshments are provided after the race.
