The race.

The Groundhog Festival 5K takes place July 3, 2026, in Punxsutawney, PA. Registration occurs at the Shadow Hotel adjacent to Barclay Park from 5:00 pm, with the race starting at 6:30 pm. The out-and-back course runs down Main Street, then turns right onto Chestnut Street to the turnaround point. Walkers are welcome. Awards go to the top 3 overall finishers and winners in age groups ranging from 1–14 through 70+. Registration costs $20, with a June 26 deadline; registering by June 23 guarantees a t-shirt.
