About the race
The race.
The Gulf Coast Veterans Association hosts its 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Long Beach, Mississippi. Registration opens at 7:00 AM, with the 5K starting at 8:00 AM and the 1 Mile Fun Run at 9:30 AM, both beginning and ending at Long Beach Town Green. Awards are presented at 10:00 AM and include age group categories, overall male and female winners, and a "Heavy Load" category for participants carrying a minimum of 12 pounds (women) or 20 pounds (men) in a tactical vest, plates, or rucksack. Finishers receive shirts, and post-race food and celebration take place at the park. Ninety-five percent of proceeds and donations benefit veterans across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
