About the race
The race.
The Happy Valley Humdinger takes place on October 24, 2026, in Lenoir, NC. The 5K course is a point-to-point route composed of 90% hardtop road and 10% natural surface, including a mowed grass field section. The race starts at Lapaz/Marshallberg Farm at 11:00 a.m. and finishes at Happy Valley Filling Station. All registered runners age 21 and over receive a craft beer after the race. A Kids Fun Run presented by UNC Ortho begins at 12:00 p.m. Age group awards include custom medals for top three finishers in divisions for ages 14 and under through 30–34, plus master categories for ages 40 and over. Overall winners receive custom trophies and gift certificates. Race day on-site packet pickup and registration run from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., with pre-race pickup available Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Registered runners who enter by October 12 at midnight receive an official event shirt.
