Headless Horseman BYU 2026

The race.

The Headless Horseman BYU is a trail race held October 31, 2026, in Laingsburg, Michigan at Sleepy Hollow State Park. Runners may choose between a single 4.167-mile loop or a 12-hour back yard ultra format where completing all laps within the 12-hour window equals approximately 50 miles. Both events start at 9:00 AM with chip timing and live results. Entry fees range from $27–$35 for runners 18 and under, and $35–$40 for older participants, depending on registration date; the 12-hour ultra costs $65–$70. All finishers receive a T-shirt and patch. Overall winners receive a Headless Horseman trophy and $25 Playmakers gift card; first-place finishers in each age group receive a $10 gift card. Age groups span from 15 and under through 75 and over. Packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM race morning. Pre-registration is required; no race-day registration is available.
