Heatwave Half Marathon - Greater Chicago 2026

The race.

The Heatwave Half Marathon takes place August 2, 2026, in Elk Grove Village, IL, and offers multiple distance options: a 50-meter youth dash, 1-mile untimed run, 5K, 10K, and half marathon, along with virtual and volunteer-then-run categories. All main race distances include a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal, with chip timing and live results for timed events. The 1-mile run is untimed; the youth dash for ages 10 and under is also untimed and includes a mini bib and youth shirt, with free participation available without swag. Finishers receive complimentary ice cream, and free race photos are provided. Youth pricing of $17 applies for ages 12 and under on applicable distances. Virtual race options allow participants to run anywhere at any time while earning race swag. Register by midnight the Thursday two weeks before race day to guarantee a shirt size.
