Hillbilly Hike Half Marathon, 10k, & Greubel Memorial 5k 2026

The race.

The Hillbilly Hike Half Marathon, 10k, and Greubel Memorial 5k take place November 7, 2026, in Carlisle, Iowa, benefiting the Thrive Church Mission Team and college savings for three local students. All three races begin at 8:30 a.m. from different start locations: the half marathon starts in Indianola and finishes in Carlisle (point-to-point with provided bus transportation), the 10k runs from Summerset State Park to Carlisle (also point-to-point with bus service), and the 5k starts near the Summerset Trailhead. Finishers receive custom medals, shirts, and awards in five-year age divisions; overall trophies go to top finishers. The finish line in Carlisle offers refreshments, restrooms, and bag claim service. Race-day packet pickup and registration begin at 6:30 a.m., with buses loading from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Parking is available at Carlisle High School and surrounding areas.
