The race.

Hit the Road, Jack! takes place November 21, 2026, at Ruby Jack Trail Head in Carthage, Missouri. The event offers eight distances—5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, 25K, 30K, 50K, and a virtual run option—all on the flat Ruby Jack Trail using out-and-back courses. All distances are USATF-certified with electronic chip timing. The 50K serves as the RRCA Missouri State Championship and includes cash prizes; runners who miss the three-hour halfway cutoff are scored as 25K finishers. Awards include top male and female trophies, 10-year age group awards, age-graded awards, and finisher awards. Finishers receive certified times. The event features BBQ, coffee, and snack vendors, along with free race photos. Net proceeds benefit JRR charities and Ruby Jack Trail improvements.
