Howl at the Moon – 5K, 10K, 10M, and Half Marathon 2026

The race.

Howl at the Moon offers four distances on August 9, 2026, starting at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach. The 5K and 10K begin at 7:30am, while the half marathon and 10-mile race start at 7:00am. The 5K uses one loop of the beach path course; the 10K uses two loops; the 10-mile covers two loops of the 5-mile route; and the half marathon combines two loops of the 5-mile route with one loop of the 5K route. Bib pickup opens Sunday at 6:20am near Claremont Avenue, with early pickup available Saturday from 1–3pm at Sports Basement Long Beach. Water and aid stations operate at Belmont Pier and the finish line, offering water, Gatorade, gels, and fruit snacks. First-place medals are awarded to the overall male and female winner in each distance. Race results and photos are emailed the day after the event and shared on Instagram.
