The race.

The Jim Omohundro Courage Memorial Sundown Rundown takes place July 17, 2026, at Eastside Sports Complex in El Paso, Texas. The evening road race offers a 5K, 1.5-mile, and 1-mile walk. The race starts at 8:00 p.m. and uses chip timing. Online registration closes at 10 p.m. on July 16; early packet pickup is Thursday, July 16 from 1–6 p.m. at 9908 Trinidad, with late registration available at the starting line beginning at 6:00 p.m. on race day. Registration costs $27 in advance or $32 at the start. All finishers receive a medal; the top three finishers in each of nine age divisions (10-Under through 61-Over) receive larger medals. The first 300 registered runners receive UnderArmour DRY-FIT shirts. Proceeds benefit youth in the area as a memorial honoring Jim Omohundro, a former El Paso Police officer.
