Kick Out Mesothelioma 5-Miler & 2.5 Mile Walk In Memory of John W. Griffin (1941-2003) 2026

The race.

This 5-mile road race takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, in Portland, Maine, benefiting mesothelioma research in memory of John W. Griffin. The 5-mile race starts at 10 AM at Cutter Street and Eastern Promenade, finishing at Sewage Treatment Plant Road and Marginal Way. A 2.5-mile walk also runs the same day, starting on arrival at the Sewage Treatment Plant Road Bayside Trail entrance. Packet pickup is available at Marathon Sports (309 Marginal Way) before race day, with race-day registration from 8:45–9:45 AM. Entry fees range from $26 through June 30 to $39 on race day. Race shirts are guaranteed through October 10. Age group awards are presented, along with top overall prizes and team awards (4-person minimum). A post-race celebration with drink specials follows at Fore Play Sports Pub.
