The race.
The La Jolla Cove Swim takes place on September 12, 2026, in La Jolla, California. Four open water swimming events are offered: a 250-meter kids race, a 1-mile swim, a 3-mile swim, and a 4-mile swim. Swimmers may enter both the 1-mile and 3-mile events, with approximately one hour between the two races. All participants receive an event t-shirt, and finishers earn medals. Age group medals are awarded according to U.S. Masters Swimming brackets, with kids races organized by individual year of age through age 12.
