The race.
The Liberty to Freedom Swim is a 2.2-mile open water event held on September 19, 2026, in New York, NY. Participants swim from South Cove in Manhattan to Liberty Island across the Hudson River. All swimmers must demonstrate recent open water experience and meet a minimum pace requirement of 25 minutes per mile. Proof of comparable open water swimming experience, such as completion of the PRIDE Swim Manhattan, is required for entry.
