About the race
The race.
The MAD 5K is a 5-kilometer race held August 15, 2026, in New London, CT at Ocean Beach Park. The race starts at 9:00 am with free parking available. Participants are advised to arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the start time. The first 100 participants receive a participation medal, and first-place medals are awarded to male and female winners in each age group. Active-duty military, veterans, and their families enter free with valid military ID or DD214. One hundred percent of net proceeds support the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. The event includes a full day of activities and concludes with a ceremony at 3:00 pm on the boardwalk.
